Baseline predictions of elliptic flow and fluctuations for the RHIC Beam Energy Scan using response coefficients

چکیده

Currently the RHIC Beam Energy Scan is exploring a new region of Quantum Chromodynamic phase diagram at large baryon densities that approaches nuclear astrophysics regimes. This provides an opportunity to study relativistic hydrodynamics in regime where net conserved charges number, strangeness, and electric charge play role, which will significantly change theoretical approach simulating baryon-dense Quark-Gluon Plasma. Here we detail many important changes needed adapt both initial conditions medium baryon-rich matter. Then, make baseline predictions for elliptical flow fluctuations based on extrapolating physics LHC top energies support future analyses how causes these extrapolations break down. First compare eccentricities across beam energies, their underlying assumptions; find extrapolated state predicted be nearly identical AuAu $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=200$ GeV. Then final harmonic are linear+cubic response. We discuss preliminary STAR results order determine implications they have response coefficients lowest energy $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=7$

The Rhic Beam Energy Scan - Star’s Perspective

The first decade of RHIC running has established the existence of a strongly coupled Quark Gluon Plasma (sQGP), a new state of nuclear matter with partonic degrees of freedom. Theory predicts how transitions to this sQGP depend on the baryon chemical potential, μB , and temperature, T. At low μB and high T a cross-over transition occurs. At high μB and low T the transition is of first order. He...

Interpreting Near-side Correlations and the RHIC Beam Energy Scan

Recent data from heavy ion collisions at RHIC show strong near-side correlations extending over several units of rapidity. This ridge-like correlation exhibits an abrupt onset with collision centrality. In this talk, I argue that the centrality and beam-energy dependence of these near-angle correlations could provide access to information about the Quark Gluon Plasma phase boundary and the Equa...

Overview of results from phase I of the Beam Energy Scan pro- gram at RHIC

The first phase of the Beam Energy Scan (BES) program at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) was successfully completed during the years 2010, 2011 and 2014, with Au+Au collisions at center-of-mass energies ( √ sNN) of 7.7, 11.5, 14.5, 19.6, 27, and 39 GeV. The BES has three distinct goals: search for the turning off of the signatures of the Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP), search for the first...
